RE: 2008 Gottscheer Treffen in Cleveland
Dear
Landsleute and Friends:
There
are only a few months until the Treffen here in Cleveland.
At
this time, we would like to update you on a few things and also request some
additional information.
¨ Please provide us with the
president's name of your club. We would
like to recognize them at the banquet on Sunday.
¨ Program: Please provide us with a list
of the groups planning to perform at the Treffen. This information will help us
plan the program.
¨ Friday Arrivals: Dinner will be available for
those arriving on Friday. We would like
to serve between 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. The
cost is only $12.00 per person. Please
let us know how many will be dining at the club on Friday.
¨ Saturday Arrivals: We will not have an arrival
breakfast.
¨ Hotel Arrival: Please negotiate with the Hotel personnel as how you would like them
to handle the arrival and the hotel room keys.
¨ Adult Package Deal: Admission and dinner for
Saturday and admission and Banquet for Sunday, is $60.00 per person.
Age 7 to 18 years for package deal - $30.00
Age 7 years and under - free
¨ Excursions: An excursion is in the
planning stages.
¨ Saturday evening, August 30, 2008: Dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m. We would like to see everyone at the Club at
4:30 p.m., so that the seating arrangements can be conveyed to your group. After dinner, there will be a program, which
also is in the planning stages. Music
will be provided both in the pavilion and in the hall.
¨ Sunday, August 31, 2008: We will
begin to assemble at 9:30 a.m. for the procession with the flags into
Church. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00
a.m. at Notre Dame in Chardon, Ohio, approximately 10 minutes from the
club.
¨ After the Mass the buses
will return to the E.O.U.V. club for the banquet. The banquet will take place at 1:00 p.m. After the banquet the festivities will begin
with the Treffen program. Music will
also be provided both in the pavilion and in the main hall. More information on this later.
In the afternoon the individual leaders of the
groups and their performing groups will present their program.
¨ Monday, September 1, 2008 departure: The
EOUV club members will meet the out of town guests at the hotel, where
breakfast will be served. This will be a
nice departure from our 2008 Treffen from Cleveland. Breakfast as mentioned in our first letter
dated March 2008, will be available and included in the package deal of the
hotel.
Please
send in your monies for the package deal of the Saturday and Sunday functions
directly to Maria Sieder. As stated
before, arrangements with the hotel accommodations must also be made directly
with the Embassy Suite.
We

Cleveland.
