After Mother Nature forced us to postpone our annual Independence Day Picnic in July, we’re excited to announce that the celebration is back—and even bigger!
Join us on Sunday, August 30th, as we combine our Annual Independence Day Picnic with our Family Fun Day Event (originally scheduled for Saturday, August 29th), creating one unforgettable afternoon of great food, live entertainment, family activities, and the traditions we all love. Together, we’ll celebrate America’s 250th Birthday in true E.O.U.V. fashion!
Doors open at 12:00 Noon, and admission is $5 per person. Children 10 and under are admitted free, so bring the entire family for a fun-filled day at the Club.
The afternoon begins with the sounds of our own Gottscheer Blaskapelle at Noon, followed by the traditional Keg Tapping at 12:30 PM. Throughout the day, enjoy performances by our Kinder Tanz Gruppe and Adult Tanz Gruppe, along with a special selection by the Gottscheer Heimatchor, celebrating both our American pride and our Gottscheer heritage.
There will be something for everyone! Children can enjoy Family Fun Day activities, outdoor games, and entertainment, while adults can relax with great music, delicious food, and time spent with family and friends. Whether you’re young or young at heart, this promises to be one of the highlights of the summer.
Beginning at 12:45 PM, we’ll be serving our popular Schnitzel Dinner with all the trimmings for $15. Later in the afternoon, around 2:15–2:30 PM, we’ll fire up the grill with hamburgers and hotdogs. We’ll also have Slovenian sausage sandwiches available!
No E.O.U.V. celebration would be complete without our famous homemade apple strudel! A heartfelt thank you goes to our dedicated strudel crew once again who donated their time and talent to prepare this annual favorite. We were extremely fortunate to save the strudel that they had prepared previously for the picnic. We are also asking members and friends to donate other pastries or other baked goods for our Bakery Table. Your generosity helps make it one of the most popular attractions of the day!
The celebration continues all afternoon with Jeff Pecon’s Orchestra, among other very talented musicians, who will provide lively music that is sure to keep everyone entertained. Don’t miss the always-popular Stein Holding Contest, along with several additional surprises planned throughout the afternoon.
While we were disappointed to postpone our original July celebration, we’re grateful for the opportunity to bring everyone together for one spectacular end-of-summer celebration. We hope you’ll join us on Sunday, August 30th, as we celebrate America’s 250th Birthday, enjoy a wonderful Family Fun Day, and create lasting memories with our E.O.U.V. family.
